Samantha’s Tap Room releases menu, beer list

Samantha’s Tap Room and Wood Grill, set to open at 322 Main St. sometime after the first of the year, released a look at its food and drinks menu today.

Let’s start with the booze news: Samantha’s will have 32 beers and 20 wines on tap. The beer list currently features breweries including Southern Star, Mother’s Brewing, Piney River, Founders, Green Flash, Evil Twin, Tallgrass, Summit, Finch’s, Prairie, Rogue, Core, Tommyknocker, Lazy Magnolia and Bayou Teche. Beers are listed in 12 or 20-ounce pours for $4.50-$10.

The dinner menu includes a large selection of appetizers, plus salads, sandwiches, desserts and mains. In following with the restaurant’s name, there is a heavy emphasis on grilled dishes, including pork chops, gulf shrimp, Chilean seabass, bone-in ribeye and a bacon-wrapped quail breast. Prices are listed at $7-$30 for mains, considerably lower than many downtown options. Sides are ala carte and include grilled corn, grilled asparagus, dirty rice, asiago cheese grits and braised collard greens. Sandwiches, including a double cheeseburger, tuna melt or grilled portabella go for $7-$10.

Lost Forty Brewing’s tap room will open Dec. 20

The tap room at Lost Forty is hosting its soft opening on Saturday, Dec. 20 and launching its regular hours after that. If you’re at all tapped (ha!) into the Little Rock dining and drinking scene there is no way you haven’t heard about this brewery before now.

The latest addition to Yellow Rocket Concepts restaurant group (ZaZa, Local Lime, Big Orange), Lost Forty is a production brewery in downtown Little Rock. They’ve had logos and bumper stickers and sweatshirts since well before their beer launched at bars around town on December 10. And when that beer did launch? Well, you were lucky if you could find standing room at Flying Saucer for the debut.

Which is all to say that you’re not the only one thinking of dropping in on the new tap room once it’s open. If you do plan to brave the masses, this is what you need to know:

1. It’s a soft opening. Be patient.
